On March 15, 2022, The Men of Honor Awards, presented by the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce, took place at the new Volunteer Park Hockey Facility. The event dedicates honor and encouragement to the men in the surrounding community to create heartfelt, meaningful relationships with one another that will in turn strengthen the area.
Tom Brennan, a local rugby coach and advocate for the sport in Tennessee, was nominated and won the Chamber's Man of the Year Award in the Non-Profit category. His service to the rugby community has been invaluable. After years of serving youth and the community through his sports leadership, Brennan finally was recognized for his efforts.
Brennan's award came during an event that saw keynote speakers like Daniel Butler, Vice President and General Manager of Ford Ice Center for the Nashville Predators hockey team.
Other awards were given in the Business, Education, Healthcare, First Responder, Military Service, Young Professional, and Fatherhood categories. Notable nominees included, Barry Young (Sumner County Tourism), Commander Larry Daniel (Hendersonville Police Department), Lynn Bowles (Hendersonville Lifestyle Magazine), and William Lamberth (State Representative)
Brennan's award shows how much rugby is having a major impact in the Hendersonville area. We look forward to seeing the game grow because of Brennan's influence and efforts.
