Sarah Pitts and Cheyenne Collier have signed to play collegiate rugby at Guilford College, home of the Quakers.

"Hard work pays off," Columbia Central High Rugby said in an Instagram post announcing the signings. "Today, we honor these girls!"

Pitts and Collier were on a dominant rugby team that was ranked #1 in Tennessee and runner-ups in the state championship match in 2022. They head into a women's collegiate program that has recently been revamped.

In November 2021, Guilford hired Jeff Horton as the program's new head coach. Horton's rugby career includes aiding Youngstown State University in the launch and development of the first state-funded university to offer rugby-specific scholarships to women, moving the Kent State program from USA Rugby Division II to Division I, and being an assistant manager for the USA Women's Rugby National Team. He brings on Pitts and Collier in hopes that their winning ways at Central will help Guilford be more competitive.

We look forward to seeing how Pitts and Collier will shape Guilford Rugby going forward.
