The Sumner Rugby Board was presented with Tennessee Recreation & Parks Association’s “Best New Facility” award at city hall last night for the Hendersonville Rugby Complex.
Brian Silkwood and his coaching staff at Sumner Rugby Club have been working hard to build one of the best rugby pitches in the south east! The park has hosted numerous high school championship events and Nashville Rugby's Music City 7's Tournament. Soon they will host a selects side match with one team traveling from the Northwest.
Brian is a University of Tennessee Rugby alumni and puts in countless hours to put Hendersonville on the map as a rugby city.

“Huge thanks to Hendersonville Parks and Recreation Parks Director Andy Gilley for the recognition of Sumner Rugby’s role in bringing this new park to life! Special thanks to the park’s maintenance crew, especially Keith Futch!” - Brian Silkwood
