The Former Rugby ATL Player is Playing For NOLA Gold in 2022
Harley Wheeler of Knoxville, is coming back for another Major League Rugby go around.
The NOLA Gold have signed the 24-year old for the upcoming 2022 season.
After starting 4 out of 5 matches during Rugby ATL's inaugural season, Wheeler was temporarily released to pursue his Olympic dreams. He made his USA 7s debut during the 2019 Pan-American games, but was not included on Team USA's roster for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. He has however continued to play for the Eagles' Sevens Team.
Of his return to Major League Rugby, Wheeler said in an Instagram post: "Thankful for another opportunity, experience, and chapter in my life. This year hasn't gone as planned and a lot of obstacles were overcome. Life is meant for lessons to be learned from, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and it's turned me into a beast. Thanks to NOLA Gold Rugby for the opportunity to start a new chapter."
