The Ravenwood Raptor standout will be a Lion
Brysten Appleton has signed to play collegiate rugby at Lindenwood University.
"I'm happy to announce that I have committed to Lindenwood University to play D1 Rugby," Appleton said in an Instagram post. "I would like to thank God, my coaches, my family, my friends, and my mentors for all of the words of encouragement and support through all of my highs and lows. Thankful for this opportunity. Go Lions!!"
"Congratulations to 6'2 275 lbs prop Brysten Appleton (Brentwood, TN) on being the first signing for this year's class," Lindenwood said in a Facebook post. "Welcome to the lion land."
Appleton is committing to one of the best collegiate rugby programs in the country. Lindenwood has won four national championships in the last 10 years (2012, 2015, 2017, 2018). In the last three years, the college had 13 player get selected by Major League Rugby (MLR) teams in their collegiate draft including Emmanuel Albert (Houston Sabercats) and Conner Burns (Utah Warriors).
