Local alumni look to make impression with MLR scouts

More Tennesseans could be securing professional rugby contracts soon.
Recruiting for Major League Rugby's (MLR) sixth season is ramping up with the second installment of The Rugby Showcase. This event is one of the largest pre-draft combines where players from across the country come to show off their skills in front of professional scouts.
With the MLR Draft coming up soon, four former Tennessee collegiate rugby players are looking to make a big splash at this year's showcase.

The combine will take place at Peter Barton Stadium at the University of Denver on Saturday with the USA World Cup qualifying match against Chile an hour afterwards.
The four Tennesseans will be put through a list of drills including,
Physical Testing Metrics:
40 meter
L drill
Vertical
Bench press (Optional)
Bronco
Position Skills:
Lineouts
Scrums
Passing gauntlet
Kicking
1v1 Contact and Breakdown
Potential additional skill drills
Player interviews
